Not a lot going on this week, but I’ll share what I saw. Like this picture of Jason Momoa as Aquaman. But he’ll always be Ronon Dex to me.
- In Marvel news, the synopsis for the first few episodes after the SHIELD return on March 3. I can’t wait for the return, can you? Agent Carter‘s finale is next Tuesday, so hopefully that ends with a bang.
- Amazon has ordered their original pilot “Man in the High Castle” to series. The series is based on the Philip K. Dick novel of the same name, which is an alternate history where the Axis occupies the US after winning World War 2. It marks one of the first sci-fi shows to be developed by one of the big streaming sites (Sense8 on Netflix being the other). You can watch the pilot here.
- Fox has announced they’re working on an “event” series based on the comic book series Enormous. The comic deals with an ecological disaster that leads to the emergence of mega-sized creatures, making run-ins with giant monsters a normal occurrence. Post-apocalyptic with a vaguely sci-fi bent.
- Remember last week’s rumors about Blomkamp’s Alien project? Well, it’s official now. Ridley Scott will produce, and it’ll be altered a bit so that it can be set after Prometheus 2. How that would affect Sigourney Weaver’s involvement is a mystery at this point. Of course, that all assumes Prometheus 2 ever comes out…
- Some slight Doctor Who spoilers in 3, 2, 1… Missy will be returning in the 2-part premiere, called “The Magician’s Apprentice” and “The Witch’s Familiar.” We’ll also see Kate Stewart again, which means that series 9 ought to be picking up exactly where series 8 left off. Hopefully that means we’ll resolve some of the lingering questions and problems series 8 had. There’s a video with Michelle Gomez in costume in the link, and pay attention to the familiar looking device on her wrist…
